With One Pacific all but finished, Concord has removed the fence signage and cleared the lot of the close-by property for The Arc. Prepping the space and inching towards an official groundbreaking, I assume.

Just realized that this may become a total spandrel mess.
Hopefully it turns out as classy as One Pacific next door.

As long as they use a darker shade for the spandrel, dark (or no) mullions, and have some sort of fritted/tinted/reflective balcony glass the spandrel shoudn't be a problem.

One Pacific turned out really well, despite using a lot of spandrel.

I sure hope so.

But by the looks of the renderings, they may be using white-tinted balcony glass + clear balcony glass + black spandrel + greyish blue spandrel + white wall + blue glass, and a wide variety of colours for the mullions.

Or I may be worrying too much

I'm not too worried at this point, considering the way One Pacific turned out.

Compare that to the models:

Yeah, they have moved a lot of stuff on the empty lot at Nelson and Beatty.

I REALLY hope they will end up going with a dark spandrel as together with One Pacific and Parq the area will look amazing. I spent quite a while in the area yesterday and those two look REALLY good. Now with two tall structures in place the street network in the area is already starting to feel very nice and structures. I cannot wait for The Arc to go up as well. A lot depends on this project succeeding.

Concord Pacific's The Arc Coming Soon to Vancouver's Yaletown

Quote:
Coming soon to downtown Vancouver, Concord Pacific's The Arc will bring 29 storeys of residential space to the foot of the Cambie Street Bridge in the heart of Yaletown. Designed by the Vancouver-based Kirkor Architects + Planners, The Arc will feature a unique 'gateway' arrangement which will see the twin-tower development capped by an elegant platform bridge.

588 units, this will have a massive floorplate. Has this building gone on sale yet?

Wow, 588 units is a lot for just 29 floors. Our building is 46 floors and has some 340 units. Those upper floors must have close closer to 20 units per floor. I wonder if both "towers" will have same or different address?

I don't get how anyone would want to live with 587 neighbors...

Says the guy living in Mexico City...

Somebody on the far end of the building is hardly your "neighbour".

I'm not sure what that has anything to do with what I said.

You still share a parking lot and amenities with them.

And there are probably 20 units per floor meaning you share probably a corridor with them.
