Not a big fan of that mechanical penthouse thing though...

It's so overpowering... it should not be the most striking piece of a tower.

Another nice shot, JHikka ^
Looking at it from the north since it's been topped out reminds me how sweeeet the night time views of the City from the high-floor north-facing units will be.

Construction

Does anyone know how much longer they will have the right lane of traffic blocked? Its bad now that further up on Catherine they have the left lane closed for some reason so everyone is doing the shuffle.

It's brutal for Doran to build but I like the overall look of the building.

In a way, I think you are correct...SoBa is very much like something you would expect to see as infill in Toronto, or some it's neighboring cities, or even some of the areas of Montreal that are being developed between the downtown core, and the river.

Catherine Street has a lot of potential. It would be cool if that part of the 417 was lined with tall buildings like the Gardiner in Toronto.

Exactly what i was thinking of! Its one of the few places in downtown that the centretown community plan actually allows taller buildings.

Wow, I can't believe how deceivingly close this photo makes Lansdowne look in the photo. Looks just next door when it's actually 2.5ish km!

Do we have any news on what the ground level retail is supposed to be? They've started working on the ground level facade so I can only assume it's getting close to completion at this point.

A few years ago they said it was supposed to be a Farm Boy but I don't know if that's still the case.

I remember that rumor from back in the day but I haven't heard anything about it since. Loblaws did a pretty amazing reno on Isabella, that might be what killed it. Farm Boy should get in on the Little Italy renaissance.

Does anyone know what the actual height of this building is?

The title of this thread says 19 storeys, but I counted 22 storeys. There's 20 floors and then 2 for the box at the very top. In some photos it looks like only half of the very top is a mechanical penthouse with the other half looking like it might be an actual unit, so I imagine those might be penthouse units? So 21 or 22 storeys.

Does anyone know what the as-built floor count is and height in meters, and would someone be willing to update the title of this thread to that number?
