I suspect it may be the same with awnings.

Ellis Don has put up an elevated canvas (?) sign in the parking lot.

Are we inching our way towards breaking ground?

Anything is progress I'd hazard to guess at this juncture of this prolonged and excruciatingly long saga....

Relax fellow poster. It's obvious I offended you. Parroting me is just childish. Discussion is over.

Makes me nervous that they are tying demolition of the St Regis into the appearance of progress of the unrelated tower project.

Shortly is a relative term. For instance "shortly" is measured in decades for fortress. And then you end up with half a hole in the ground and a promise of permits upcoming to continue progress.

Don't get me wrong, I am personally cheering for this to succeed. I am not holding my breath tho

lets drop some more news for you naysayers

The completion of construction and registration of Brant Park marks the twenty-first exit for syndicate lenders who have funded Fortress projects. To date, over $100 million of principal has been repaid to lenders, and the average estimated annualized returns in the 21 completed projects is 9.3 per cent. These exits have come following various stages: completion of construction, sale of lands and refinancing of the development site included among them.

“The $100 million paid back to lenders is a major milestone in our industry,” said Ildina Galati, BDMC principal broker, in a press release. “This year alone we have exited five development projects and this is a testament to the borrowers we work with, their experience, the strong due diligence they do in terms of understanding the market and the value they create for all stakeholders involved in the projects.”

True although some people seem so intent on negativity that they'd probably have a fit if it were ever completed

They didn't act as a developer on this project. They have not completed a single project or even got to grade on a single project that they are a developer on.

The ONLY way SkyCity is ever built is if Fortress is no longer involved.

True but doesn't tell the whole story (like the marketing material they throw at investors) They haven't completed, got to grade on a single project because they haven't ever been a developer.

They are a shady investment vehicle that flirts with the line. This project failing in no way confirms they have crossed the line here.

True and worth noting.

However, I heard yesterday from a friend who is tight with some Ellis Don people that they are convinced this is going ahead.

That's some pretty whimsical support, I know, but hey I'll take it.
