It was rumour rather than anything concrete. I think people had 80 floors stuck in their heads due to the cancelled 1 Bloor East development and talked themselves into thinking this would get closer to the height of that first proposal.

Then I guess the only building you care about going up in Canada would be Aura and maybe Trump if your one of those who counts spires.

Height fetishes aside, this is still going to be a massive development. Four Seasons is shorter than this, but already towers over everything in the immediate area and is highly visible from many parts of the city. Apart from boosting the Y/B skyline, One Bloor is going to have a great impact on the streetscape and area.

Well, this is Great Gulf so we can expect quality finishes. It should be more than "just another Aqua"

Construction hoarding is going up at One Bloor today. Groundbreaking ceremony later this week. Moving along nicely for the beginning stages I guess.

How convenient. We don't want any Muggles milling around the worksite to muck things up. We need the magic to begin!

If the 100-story and 80-story rumours come to fruition ... we're going to have to nickname Number One Bloor 'Stubby.'
