Wish I had that pic for an earlier debate about Canadian vs. US cities.

To demonstrate what point?

that Canada canyons just as impressively as Manhattan (it's shorter, but at a certain point tall is tall).

No, in Midtown Manhattan it's canyons to infinity.

In term of buildings quality, we are far behind, we will never catch up.

I hope you aren't talking about us being behind New York. It's filled with some of the ugliest buildings around. Like the over busy-ness of old Paris, but 20 stories taller minimum. The with the ugliest brutalist designs sprinkled in for good measure. They have a few nice buildings, but it's a sea of ugly. Canadian cities are almost all of far better aesthetic quallity.

I don't think there is a city in Canada which can beat Chicago for the quality of high rises. We don't have the money here in Canada.

Old Paris is almost all way to busy. There's nice areas, but there's a lot of buildings are just a mess. New York is worse.

Chicago has some nice tall buildings, but it doesn't strike me as exceptionally different quality from Toronto.

Maybe, but it has enough ugly buildings in Manhattan alone to outdo Canada at least 3 times over in that category.

No, I'm stating my honest opinion. There's a few nice buildings in Chicago, but the overall cityscape, from what I've seen, looks to be similar, just skinnier and taller. Oh and some boulevards, which no city should have. Anything more than 4-5 lanes is just bad design.

It's not about opinion - I respect opinions but this is a clear case of total lack of knowledge of what architecture is and what buildings exist out there...

Sounds like he doesn't care for anything that's highly ornate and prefers very sleek, minimal designs. From that perspective, much of NY and Paris would seem like a cluttered mess.
