^ I think becuase NASCAR is made most popular by the standard oval courses you see all over the states.

The main reason I like the TCC is that they run modified production cars. And really cool ones too. NASCAR cars are essentially kits.

I much prefer tricked out M3's, WRX's, Opels, Renaults, Volvos and the like to the NASCAR cars

A more accurate description would be most US racing is ovals. Open wheel or stock.

It's the "kit" nature of those vehicles that allow them to be repaired rather quickly and cheaply thus allowing them to take a ton more risks. More risks = more passing and more exciting moments. Otherwise you are just watching a 50 lap parade.

Me as well to a degree... V8 aussie super cars also welcome as are DTM, but how about ALMS or SPEED World Cup.

Porsche series even.

MotoGP

BUT, by the sounds of it, they want to focus on local motorsports which is a VERY VERY good thing. We are always struggling to find more places for Auto-x or lapping days, let alone WCMA events.

I just want me a nice surface to run this:

Edmonton Indy fans might be glad to know the city isn't ruling out the possibility of working with another promoter to produce the popular race.

They just haven't heard from one yet.

Greetings from Suzuka F1

Just thought I would say that Race Week Edmonton should be very proud. Off track stuff here is invisible and while most people stay in Nagoya, you would never know there is an F1 race 45mins away.

That said, the at track stuff is incredible.

Can of beer:

Edmonton Indy - $7-8

Suzuka F1 - 350 yen or about $4.25

ok, off to the race!
