Welcome to the forum, and great view by the way!

And I believe this is the 19 floor St-M condo tower on St-maurice street. Univers will be going up on an adjacent sometime in the next 5 years or so.

Phase 2 of Saint-M will be residential apartments! Working on getting more info. regarding building height, # of units, expected announcement date etc.

FYI, source is Peter Varadi

Good news for the rental apartments. We need more of them in downtown.

Phase 2 will be 14 floors. And I still think they shouldn't have destroyed those 2 5-6 storey brick warehouses.

Okay got a bit more information! The building may not be entirely sold as rentals. It could very well be a combination of both condos and apartments.
Building height is supposed to be 17 floors with 8 or 9 units per floor from ground to the 14th and 4-5 units per floor on floors 15-17! Finally, no set launch date yet.
That's all I've got for now.

I like it, despite the fact that some added height would be welcome (but what's new...this is Montreal)

And a little unexpected bonus...

It would have been nicer if they used the stone or brick for the entire tower instead of pre-cast concrete panels.

Unfortunately, as this picture shows, the max height zonage for this area is 65m...

At least they're picking off those horrible parking lots one by one. That no-man's land between McGill Street and the Bonaventure Expressway is slowly developing and filling up, beginning with the developement of Cité de la multimédia at the southern end of the neighbourhood a few years back, and the M9 buildings, and these new developments at the northern end just off Victoria Square (Le Phénix, the new Quebecor tower and soon Le Victoire). And Arrondissement 21 a block or two further south, within view of the Saint-M construction site. All in all, at least things are going in the right direction.

I hate the pre-fab, but with the glass now being added, it is looking better than I expected.

I agree with what you're saying. It's great stuff. I really hope to hear something about the parking lot you were standing in to take that picture of the three buildings...

I sure hope the empty lot on McGill college will be filled in soon. But they should be careful with that one. That's one hell of a prestigious spot...

St-M today, by me.

Thanks for the pic Rico. That building has nothing remarkable but it blends well enough with its surrounding while getting rid of another empty spot. The result is actually OK.
