Grand West is okay, but it makes me think of Grand Central. West End would be cool though.

Forgot to post this but, both Uber and Lyft are now operating in San Antonio. Lyft launched last Friday and Uber launched yesterday.

I think I've seen part of this trail before. I'd love to check it out sometime. I'm officially jealous of San Antonio for this.

Discover the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail System in San Antonio

Former Mayor of San Antonio Howard W. Peak originally developed the idea of a “ring” of trails encircling San Antonio several years ago, but the concept is now finally close to completion.

The project needs funding for another 32 miles of new trail, to add to the 45 already available and the 41 in development. That’s a grand total of over 100 miles of trailways! The city’s parks and recreation department also provides popular biking and hiking routes on their website, so anyone can go for a jog or cycle on the nearest greenway. We like the downtown paths that take the runner through various must-see spots in San Antonio, whether you’re a tourist or a local.

The greenway trails are, in my opimion, the best money SA has spent in the past decade. They're really an incredible amenity and are super popular. If you come to check them out, Leon Creek is the prettiest (and longest, it stretches all the way from La Cantera to near Ingram Park Mall, about 15 miles I think)

I completely agree, they're the best idea anyone has ever had and a great use of public funds. Once the trails make connections and loops it's easy to see tons of people using them for all or part of their commutes on bikes.

Edit to add: my personal favorites are medina river trail and the salado creek trail between at&t center and southside lions park.

I'd like to. I've pretty much explored all of downtown already and the riverwalk. I rode the River North trail a few years ago and really liked it. I'll be in town in July at the Freeman Coliseum, so maybe I'll check out that Salado Creek Trail. It looks pretty close to where I'll be. Are there any spots along the trails that have skyline views, or is it just all pretty much wooded wilderness?

There some places along Leon Creek with cool views of the Medical Center, but since they follow the creeks pretty closely there's not much in the way of views along any of the trails that I know of.

Pretty good looking for a highway (I love the fact that vacant fields magically become densely forested in the renderings....). That park and ride looks pretty interesting, I guess the buses will get to run in the toll lanes it looks like?

They're "managed lanes" which is hybrid of toll and HOV/carpool lanes.

This expansion will definitely help minimize traffic, reduce congestion and slow the encroachment of the city into the countryside...

Do you mean speed up the encroachment of the city into the countryside?

His entire comment was sarcasm. Traffic will fill whatever space it is given.

They might as well build some sort of double or triple decker on 281. Going wider isn't going to help at all before a major interchange (281-1604) just look at I10 just north of the 410/10 interchange. It's 6 lanes wide west and east bound and still backs up along with 2 lanes on each side of access road! Lol what a joke.
