Tailor recommendations

I'm thinking about buying a new suit, and was considering going for made-to-measure. Any tailor recommendations?

Harry Rosen has a Made to Measure suit sale in February.

Book a flight to Bangkok, and go to a tailor there. Probably the cost of two suits and the flight would be cheaper than 2 tailored suits from a place like Harry Rosen. Plus you get a trip to Thailand.

This is what I have done, and my tailor there has all my measurements on file. Now, when I need some new clothes, I just e-mail him a picture of what I want, western union some money over, and the clothes arrive in the mail 2 weeks later. Now I just need to make sure I don't get fat....

In case you do, just get your measurements taken here and email them to your tailor.

Depends on what suits you buy. Hugo Boss would start around $900 a suit and Zegna around $2000?

That's what I do and its worked well. I've been buying suits from the same guy in Thailand for over three years.

As for here in town, I've bought suits from Supreme on 4th, and I was pretty happy with their stuff, but my favorite place in Calgary is O'Connor's. In my mind, that's the best men's shop in town. I find Harry Rosen to be over-priced because of the name.

How much do tailored suits run in Bangkok? Here in Shanghai I can get a tailored suit for around 500RMB or less (~$85).

^^^
The guy I go to in Thailand charges 5000 baht, which is around $175. Of course you can go up and down from there. I'm sure in Bangkok you could find a place that would sell you a suit for $20. Of course it'll probably look like a suit that cost $20 too!

Shirts usually run me about $30 Can. and pants about $40. Suits go for approximately $120. As stated though, you can probably find cheaper, but you certainly notice that it is cheaper.

This is also what I do! It's a great thing. I get mine from Hoi An in Vietnam. There is a shop there owned by a family from Toronto. Works out to about $100 for a suit and french cuffed shirt. You will never feel sexier in anything after wearing a tailored suit
