Different sections of the building have entirely different glass.
I know, that's totally what it looks like but i think it's just a trick of changing hue and light/shadow? unless they decided to make the base green and the top blue which i hope is not the case.

Yeah, this is my understanding as well. The color/hue will remain the same, but the tint/shade will change based on the undulating of the building.

Here's my take on this debate:

I like glass

The lease in my apartment is up soon and I won't see this building on a regular basis so im hoping the crew keeps installing at this pace or faster and we get huge chunks of finished walls.

Shitty iPhone zoom + Instagram story overlay, but the transition is pretty clear. Also, definitely get the impression the hue leans quite a bit more more blue-teal than blue-green, green.

Hope to have some better stuff up later...

A few pics from chicago architecture river cruise 10/16

10/16

iPhone pics- excuse the quality. Also, this boat cruise continues to be one of my all-time favorite activities. A must do for all locals and visitors.

^Nice capture.

If the difference is that noticeable between adjacent grades of shade, the glass scheme is going to have a really pronounced effect of pulsing and oscillating.

Yeah I think there's a good chance of this looking pretty darn surreal near sunset with waves of blue and green

Remember the reflectivity is supposed to vary as well which will further amplify the effect.

10/19: Big update from my visit this AM

That shadow....

Some glass. I tried not to mess with the colors, too much, but between different computer monitors, white balance levels, varying cloud coverage, and small color adjustments, it's almost impossible to depict any one color exactly as one would see it in person. That said, to my eye it seems to skew more blue than green.

I can't stop staring at that last photo. The angles and reflections... I can't wait to see that same shot when that whole area is fully glassed. Thank you for the stunning photos.

Since this project's schedule is already completely out of whack, I wish they had gone all the way up with spandrel glass and left the rest bare. That would have made for some very interesting shots like the last one Nick provided. Beautiful images, as always.

I love that you've been registered for two months and made your first post to confirm this. What's your source?
