You commented that SHoP had plans for an adjacent building.

With that understanding, I wonder: Has there been any speculation as to whether something more vertical is in the works.

After all, this is MidTown East we're talking.

Nope. SHoP is doing a renovation. Also, dampen your expectations for Midtown East. There's only a few sites under the rezoning which passed that are likely to produce anything exciting in the short term.

There are a lot of interesting things taking shape in Midtown. The remake of 335 Madison won't be the first remake of that building...

Massive floor plates.

Enjoy it for what it is... not many sites have this kind of sheer size bar the West Side or East Midtown (rezoning). A block worth of dimensions.

I do hope the Midtown rezoning yields lots of stacking towers (ones build a top of already large, existing footprints). IMO, much preferred to just demo'ing "X" structure and starting new.

Add another giant to that list of east midtown developments to keep an eye on. This one will be 1,200 ft or so...(270 Park)

At least when you see it in person, you can definitely see a slight angle in the steel as this tapers upwards. Also wow those are some high ceilings.
