IMO, 2 Panorama towers would've been better than 4.

Here's the agenda sheet for Elad's Plaza project replacing the Frontier.
http://dsnet.co.clark.nv.us/dsnetapp...a/P0233935.htm

Seven highrise towers, six of which are 671 feet tall, that's taller than Trump, Encore and Palazzo, their nearest neighbors.

French Renaissance architectural style themed after the original Plaza Hotel located across the street from Central Park in New York City.

The exterior facade is a combination of faux stone panels and aluminum framed glass curtain wall systems

Total floor space = 15,080,846 square feet

4,100 rooms
2,600 condominiums
175,900 square feet of casino area
134,500 square feet of restaurant area
347,887 square feet of retail area
539,607 square feet of convention space
50,000 square feet of a health club
1,500 seat theater
227,038 square feet of open space on the roof top of the podium that includes pool areas.
3,317,400 square feet of parking garages

Here's what the site looks like right now.

Yeah, there is some underground parking under the "U" shaped building out front, but most of the parking will be in a 12-story garage.

With the Crown approved at 1,064 feet, will Fontainebleau now reapply for a height above 1,000 feet?
And what is with 1,064 and not 1,150? Sure it will still be the tallest building west of the Mississippi but not taller than the Stratosphere. Maybe that was the number the FAA gave, anyone know?

Yeah, the FAA came up with that number, I have now idea why.

That would make sense for the Font to try to go higher. At the planning meeting where all the Turnberry residents showed up to complain about the convention center, the Font representative said that they actually already had permission from the FAA to go higher. Also, I remember when they were building the foundation it looked like they made a change and beefed it up and some of us speculated that they did that in case they might go higher. Just speculation, mind you.

Mark,

Awesome photos as always! Love the Trump-colored tumble weed in the foreground with the unique view of Trump.

Also nice action shot of the Cosmo/Strip scene.

The more photos the better -- thanks for your work ---

Any Toughts on Tropicana / Excalibur corner ?

Are those turds the next to go on the South Strip? I think the ideas/themes are good but they should start over and do them in style. That would make that corner a great scene.

I read that Tropicana is having big time problems. MGM keeps itching to find the next project/parter, it seems.

I checked out the CityCenter link. AWESOME shots!

One guy said that the renderings didn't do the project justice - wow! The renderings looked fantastic and I thought it would not live up to the hype. I will be there in two weeks to see it in person. Looking good! Very interesting stuff.

I finally made it back to Vegas this weekend

After more than one year off I made it back to Vegas for a weekend. Here's my first picture. There was not a cloud in the sky for 2 days. It seemed a little hazy or dusty but this picture brings out the blue sky in Vegas. I think this is the way Donald Trump would like his building photographed.

Good "hero" shot Hans. What's going on with the windows? Is the color change just from cleaning?

Looks like it. You can see a window washing scaffold on the left.
