With this and 6 Center Houston breaking ground soon, downtown Houston is going to be crane central here in the next few months.

It looks like a great building that will add a lot of residents Downtown. It'll look great in the Market Square area.

Such a tease. Could be a couple of months out.

As is the Hines Market Square tower, says the HBJ.

Don't forget the other 38-story block near the Convention Center. And we still don't know about the Texaco addition.

There's also Marquette Place (Block 52), which breaks ground late August/Early September. Here's a new rendering for it:

A few other high-rise and mid-rise buildings were missed as well.

How can we dare to forget 609 Main? Too much to remember is a great thing for Downtown.

There's a new high-rise on the boards for Montrose, Hines is the developer.

Drove across town today, dunno if I have ever seen so many high-rise construction cranes.. Stopped by El Tiempo had some good food.. Wish I would have taken some pictures =X

Its just awesome seeing all these projects getting green lights.

7200 would be a shocker if it got built even near that rendering.

I was unaware Hines was even involved in getting the Amegy tower and the Hilcorp tower built. Their ideas tend to gestate for a long time, which I guess means they are out looking for money or tenants before they make formal announcements. And weren't they supposed to be involved in a building on Waugh Drive?

should many of these prospective concepts / projects.. reach completion in time as per forthcoming superbowl.. i shall strongly predict houston becoming a new tourist attraction.

this shall be due to the new "world class" aura as per our fair city. there shall be no looking back!

Urbannizer's map:
I believe your thinking of 100 Waugh, which is a joint venture between Hines and Midway Companies. (Highrise residential, premiere hotel, and a 600,000 sf office tower)

Swamplot is citing an August start date for this one. Ten floors, including garage. The demolition must be just about done.

This is saying it would be the tallest residential building in downtown. That would make it at least 502 feet tall since One Park Place is 501 feet. This also says it'll break ground next month.

Record size residential project set to rise downtown
40-story high-rise to be the giant of rental property near Market Square

By Nancy Sarnoff

July 14, 2014 | Updated: July 15, 2014 9:31am

A developer plans to break ground next month on what will be downtown's tallest residential tower, a project symbolic of this city's healthy economy and downtown's growing emergence as a place to call home.

The Texas-sized tower is set to rise 40 stories and house 463 apartments built to almost-condominium standards, the developers said Monday.

Thanks for sharing that article, Kevin. It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate the existing garage into the building.

I like the colors on this building (can't recall what street it's on, though).
