Lupul contributes to getting knocked onto his ass a lot. That's his greatest skillset.

He also contributes 66 points, and the leafs spend approximately $66,000 for every point he gets. The blackhawks spend $84,000 for every point Hossa has.

No doubt on an individual basis, Hossa is a more skilled player, but Lupul has good hockey sense and knows how to get points. To say he doesn't contribute is ludicrous.

He is good yes but he is not at the same level as Hossa.

Perhaps I was being too generous when I said they are on par but the reason why I compared Lupul with Hossa is because of both players' performance this season. Lupul has more points this season right now, but no doubt Hossa is a more complete player and has a way more distinguished career. Actually my favourite player when he was with the Sens and continued to be a fan when he played in Atlanta. Lupul has had a break out year but at age 28. There's no telling if he can repeat such success again.

Hats off to the Jets tonight. Stepping up on a critical game and winning the game big time. I'd rather have the Jets make the playoffs than the Caps, but realistically see the Panthers falling out.

Desharnais now with 50 pts... how the fuck did this guy go undrafted. His vision is mind boggling. You can appreciate his talent even more when you're right there.

Well.

Jets rebounded from that Oilers loss in a big way.

7-0 over Panthers. And a playoff spot (for the time being)

Funny how people talk up Lupul, a player who has sucked it up his entire career and is only 65 games in to a career year.

Flames play in Anaheim tonight......usually this is a guaranteed loss - Flames have managed 1 measly win in the last 25 games in Anaheim however Phoenix is usually a guaranteed loss for the Flames and they won there last night so who knows.

God I missed Ryan White. Already 32 PIM in 8 games.

Randy Carlyle better make sure to tell his players not to run Price.

We might suck this year but one thing is sure, we're bigger and can now match physically with almost every team.

I missed out on the third period of the Leafs-Habs game but anybody who seirously thinks the coaching change made a difference is delusional. As Ive said verbatim The Leafs are still sorely lacking in D and making the playoffs would be worst case scenario when it comes to building a powerhouse like the canucks. I saw an incredible burst steal/play from Desharnis which could have easily been a game changer.

Waiting for homer fans of both teams to chime in like i'm waiting in the eye of a storm haha ... im a lil drunk right now so chilllllax i missed the 3rd the stream was down was it down for anyone else?

Desharnais keeps impressing the hell out of me. He definitely has the most chance to become St. Louis version 2.

Here are Desharnais' stats:
374 pts in 262 games in the QMJHL
106 pts in 68 games in the ECHL
184 pts in 183 games in the AHL
74 pts in 115 games in the NHL

The interesting thing with him is that the first 80 games in a new league, he will actually produce less. After that, he gets more comfortable and uses his small size properly. Since the 80 games mark... he has produced at a PPG pace with the Habs. 35 pts in his last 36 games.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 70-80 pts next year. Already has 51 this season with 16 games to go.

Canucks lose to buffalo but at least the Leafs get knocked down to 12th in the east. No playoffs again! Theres always next year to not make the playoffs.

At least the Canucks traded Cody Hodgson in a desperation move. Great long term thinking by Gillis. haha.

Washington got destroyed by the Devils.

Florida got destroyed by us (Jets). They also lost last night.

If the Jets can pull their socks up we might just make the playoffs!
