Eh traditionalist architect vs modern architect hehe.. I just don't feel it contains enough character to blend in with the rest of the streetscape... I feel it needs a bit more.
The others have this cool combination of old vs new - but its more old than new - the new accents it - with this one it feels like their old accents the new. Just not a huge fan of that - and I find over the years buildings that are purely modern age terribly.
Just the fact it is against something so ornate just makes it look PAINFULLY modern. Then you add the brick wall on the side of it and the building just feels like if it's gonna go modern it hasn't gone enough and if it's trying to be a combination of old vs new it hasn't gone enough old to accent the new. I'd personally love to see some of the terracotta design elements onto the stone facade instead of just making it clinical in its architectural shape.
