http://blogs.ottawacitizen.com/2012/...-pub-business/ not just one, but could be three Big Rig brewpubs in a few years if their plans go well.

Le Bop in Hull will be transformed into a brasserie over the next few months as well.

With all of the microbreweries and brew pubs that have popped up in Ottawa in the past few years (Kitchissippi, Beyond the Pale, Broadhead, Big Rig, Lowertown Brewery, Clocktower, Mill Street, Bicycle Craft, Dominion City, Brasseurs du Temps, 3 Brasseurs etc.) I'm wondering why the city isn't heavily promoting itself as a beer destination. It can certainly hold its own with anywhere in Canada.

That type of promotion seems to work for this San Diego suburb:

Craft beer is a growing trend in North America. I'm not sure whether it's hit its pique just yet though.

No question that it is growing everywhere. But Ottawa is definitely a hotspot.

Maybe I am just dreaming of an Ottawa Tourism ad that doesn't focus on the Parliament Buildings and insert museum here.

Ottawa Tourism does feature craft breweries:

http://www.ottawatourism.ca/en/featu...aft-beer-scene

They've got great adverts that aren't really focused on Parliament Hill, there's some beer flowing at 0:46

It's kind of hard since breweries all over the city, but if we had to pick one district, it would likely be Sparks.

Innovative name for that new place proposed in Brockville.

good location in the old print shop; it's just around the corner from WestWellie, but because of the odd angle of intersection it effectively fronts on to Wellington as well.

Well, you gotta think how many breweries existed pre Brewers Retail? When almost every restaurant had its own casks, Id say so long as we dont bring in prohibition we have quite a way to go until saturation. The biggest limiting factor IMO is Brewers Retail and the Government of Ontarios inability to change the status quo too durastically.

Awesome, now I will have 2 microbreweries in my backyard, with Beyond the Pale at City Centre and this one a few blocks away. People living at the new Eddy condos will have both the LCBO and this new microbrewery across the street. I wonder what will happen to that empty lot where Suzy Q and TacoLot are located. Suzy Q is moving 1-2 blocks over, so that will free up some space.
