what will the draw bridge be used for tho? taiwan govt. doesnt allow private yachts. and that drawbridge entryway looks way too small for commercial ships.

Razzy, it's actually quite wide. If you count the dividers on top, there are approximately 17 of them, and each one is 2 meters wide. In short, the width is approximately 34 meters across. To put this into perspective, the Panama Canal is 32 meters across, and we've managed to fit an entire Iowa Class Battleship through it. As with most container ships in the world, the width is limited by the Panama Canal, so anything should be able to fit through that, even a Royal Carribean cruise liner with a beam length of 32.2 meters.

oh well, it just looks really small. but i doubt anyone would try to fit a 32.2 meter wide cruise ship thru a 34 meter opening. that's really tight to steer thru and really asking for it!! you dont know if there are rocks/land and stuff underwater on either side.

anyway, thanks for the info, ed. you're so informative!!
