Peace bridge looking good! I love Calatrava... It looks a lot better than the pale yellow bridge at CityPlace.

South End has been connected to the span essentially! You can now drive over from the bridge deck to the south span of the bridge.

The Île d'Orléans Bridge, near Quebec City, is a suspension bridge with a total length of 4.43 km which was completed in 1935. Due to its old age, the Ministère des Transports du Québec has announced that this bridge will have to be replaced within 10 years.

It is a brillant picture isn't it?!! I sincerely believe that Quebec City's natural setting should be much more heavily promoted than it is nowadays. The City obviously relies on its historical buildings but the landscape of its surrounding area is very beautiful. Even I, until recently, ignored that so many natural sites were in the vincinity of the city. This picture should be included in tourism pamphlets just as much as pictures of the Château Frontenac.

Clearly BC and Quebec kick ass on bridgemanship.

The quality of the Quebec photos posted over the past few months on SSP is nothing short of fantastic. My home province...and so many treasures that I was completely ignorant about (not Ile d'Orleans...I have been there....but that canyon Ste. Anne, etc.)

A big reason for that is the fact that its 2 largest cities are located right on the St. Lawrence, and in BC the largest city is in a harbour/peninsula.

I'm willing to bet if Toronto and Hamilton were located on major rivers instead of against a great lake they would have large beautiful suspension bridges and whatnot as well.

That being said I would absolutely add the Prince Edward Viaduct to Canada's greatest bridges list.

Rural Saskatchewan would have some nice suspension bridges too if it weren't rural Saskatchewan...

Seriously, by saying that BC and Quebec kickass at bridgemanship I don't think he was implying that Ontario does not kickass at bridgemanship.
