Pardon some excessively large watermarks. Still trying to figure out how Aperture scales them. Seems to be gigantic on anything I've cropped.

They're from this summer but it's the first time they've been put online: Some 4x5 photos I took around July.

Devonian Gardens

I got a chance to see the new Devonian Gardens finally when I was down for the West LRT opening. I like it, not quite as much as the old gardens, but it's pretty good. It's a mix of open and less open areas, but you can still find a few nooks to get some quiet time in. The first impression is kind of deceiving, the garden gradually closes in from the open mall area so coming in initially seems very open. You wander around the whole garden then realize that there are still some out of the way corners to have a quiet lunch.

Great photos. I never realized you could see Sunalta Station behind the Peace Bridge (never looked closely I guess). In my mind the two are 90 degrees from one another (running N-S and E-W) but in your photo they look to be running parallel.

I totally agree. I had to take a second look to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

Thanks. Your mind is right. While they don't form exactly a 90 angle, they are a lot closer to 90 than they are to parallel.

A telephoto lens brings things closer together which in this case skewed the perspective. Known as telelphoto distortion or compression.
