Bourville, France

Ok so long story short, i terraformed the last one in a weird way, basically now i wouldn't be able continue the city past its current quadrant. Oh well.

So new city. sort of. New land mass at least, same church though. This one will be pretty much the same. except now the old town will be on a high cliff and flow into the new city rather than an abrupt break from old to new. anyway...

Enjoy!

I'm looking forward to seeing this one developing. I'd often thought about doing some old-world based sketchup but I just get carried away with the skyscrapers.

This looks awesome. I can already see it. Actually, I just watched Quantom of Solace and they have some awesome locations in that movie. This looks like one of them!

Imagine, James Bond driving his 300,000 dollar Aston Martin up to the church and there's a fancy party for only the most elite and a whole bunch of action goes on and kaboom! and... never mind. I'll stop embarrassing myself now...

But really, it looks awesome. You should add people to that observation platform. A few trees here and there, along with benches. Oh, a fountain between the church and those small row-buildings on the top right would look nice.

This start looks very interesting - especially the geography! This city has a very nice feel.

I think a few trees and benches is all that platform needs - like Aleks suggested.

Lol Aleks. but hey, you would have a good snipers nest in that clock tower...

That platform seems to overlook a body of water, maybe some kiosk and a temporary marketplace serving french food.

.

your are definitly going the right way with the terrain,as the most important buildings are usually on highest part of town be it castle or church.e.t.c I think bringing in some hills, levels will make this a killer city.Looks great.
An old bridge and river would be cool.As for the platform below the church
i would put some coloured large umberellas to show a outdoor boozing area,
so you could sit down ,drink ,look over the city and listen to a jazz band..

Cities always look so much more interesting when they're on a hillside! Bourville is a great addition to the forum.

I didn't realize the city's location was so high up, nice. And Toyota, remember that putting things in quotes usually mean you're being sarcastic. If you post " This is "very good". " it's interpreted as you thinking it's shit and being sarcastic about it. Use bold instead. Just a tip, please don't take offense.

Wow! How were you able to texture the hills so smoothly?

Thanks

Toyota: italics work too.

Austin: if you mean the cliffs, I took a texture of a stone wall, and stitched copies of it together carefully so it wouldn't look repeated.

Very nice and dramatic setting! Looks awesome! Lovely narrow and steep streets! Is this city going to have some kind of of port, with steep streets or stairs descending to the water line?
