As I impatiently wait for winter to end here in Chicago, these photos leave me feeling incredibly jealous!

But I enjoyed it nonetheless! Plenty of good scenes captured. Nice!

Home sweet home! So much has improved over the 12 years I've been living here and so much more is coming. It's awesome to experience.

you & other forumers like chrisLA always manage to put together photo essays that make a place...in this case, LA....seem friendly & welcoming. however, even your skilled camera work couldn't have pulled that off too many yrs ago.

then there's the arts district & little tokyo....with its long awaited community gymnasium opening later this yr. I hope work will get started on the colburn school expansion before everyone is old & gray.

A lot of the centers of cities throughout the US are also getting cleaned up and becoming more competitive again....so for dtla, not a second too soon.

My first experiences in DTLA were in 1989 (age 13) and I've been exploring it occasionally ever since when I get a chance. It's like a different planet.

So liveable compared to then. In '89 you didn't go east of Hill Street. The Red Line was under construction underneath much of downtown. It was a total mess.

Great set of photos, pwright1! DTLA has come so incredibly far, yet, it still has so much untapped potential. That's what keeps it exciting!

Looks like a nice place, very beautiful and vibrant and inviting. I hope to go back there soon to visit my relatives, and you captured many different sides of it well. That huge parking garage under construction in the first pic is a bit disconcerting though. If you want true high density and urbanity, you still need to invest more in public transit and other alternatives.

To be fair, that's not all parking. A significant portion is retail, with parking tucked behind and above. In terms of public transit, we are currently constructing a subway extension to Brentwood from Koreatown.

Currently, the purple line subway extension from Koreatown to ucla, the regional connector subway through downtown, the Crenshaw line lrt and the lax people mover are all under construction. Several more subway and lrt lines starting soon

And the regional connector. Downtown is pretty well served with mass transit options. Great photos!

Wow, LA looks fantastic!

I visited downtown LA for the first time last October. Thought it seemed like a great neighborhood to live in. Lively, attractive, lots of restaurants. I was impressed

Man, I hope Downtown restaurants and retail somehow survive this. It has been so nice to see how Downtown has blossomed into a vibrant active center for LA. So much progress and now this damn virus.
