Bodo_business and Sawtooth, you should both also post your excellent pics in the thread over in the Highrise Construction forum in order to keep it more active. Most Boise forumers must not realize there is a Boise related thread outside of the Mountain West

According to the latest documents submitted to the Boise PDS on 4/24/2012, the tower is....

http://pdsonline.cityofboise.org/pds...id=BLD12-00932
http://pdsonline.cityofboise.org/pds...04241545558900

Total floors: 18
Height: 352 ft.

It's being billed as a 16 floor office tower, but I have a hunch that's because it's not including the parking in the tower floor count. Meaning this...

...is an accurate depiction of what the final tower will look like, and it will indeed be the new tallest building in Boise!

352' is gigantic for Boise standards.

Because there isn't any underground parking, I imagine the skeleton will pop up pretty quick.

Excellent news about the height. I'm guessing the 352' is to the top of the spire? Anyway, I'll be happy the day the US Bank building is passed.

I was looking at old renderings of the Boise Tower and Boise Place. Overall I feel that while the extra height in those projects was nice, neither offered anywhere near the street-level interaction that 8th and Main promises. With Boise's walkable, lively downtown, I think what's available on the street is more valuable.

any moderators on that can make that adjustment?

Taking into consideration that Boise downtown blocks are compact and very friendly on a human scale (walkable), and that this building will only take up a small footprint of the block....do you all think it will have a "skinny" appearance to it? Does anyone know the dimensions of our blocks compared to Portland?

That second link in the value box has 12000000. That seems a little low, as if it is missing a zero.

:

A very good size building for downtown Boise. 352Ft is a good height since most 18 stories buildings are not that tall. They kind of cheated there with the spire.

I look forward of seeing photos of this development.

i thought there were 3 floors of parking; so if we're adding the parking to 16 it would have 19 floors

I believe ours are 330 by 300--a bit wider east/west than north/south.

Awesome news on the height. I wonder how tall the spire is? Hopefully it isn't that big and the building itself can stand tall!

Projects, that's no different that the Wells Fargo Center throwing on an antenna to try and claim tallest in SLC.

As for Boiseans, this is awesome news! There is nothing better than having a new tallest to look forward to over the next 12-24 months! I'm excited to frequent this thread and watch it come to fruition!

While I'm all for it standing tall and proud above the other buildings, I do like that it will blend with our skyline so well. 352' is fine with me. Not sure we'd want what Oklahoma City has...or maybe we would

Just when it looked like everything was settled, and we had this project all figured out, I go to check out the Boise PDS and find this new document posted today with quite different renderings. These are proposed changes to the building, and there are a ton of new renderings. I was a bit keen on the older designs, but it still is a very beautiful building that'll look great in the skyline.

*sigh* It also shows two floors cut and a final height of 300' to the top of the spire, and 256' to the top of the parapet. Regarding the thread title, I'd say just change the thread to "Boise: Zions Bank Idaho HQ" since the floor count/height is in such flux. Looks like we won't know until this building is topped out.
