Cool AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands

As some of you may know I’m moving to Amsterdam tomorrow.

In order to celebrate my move, I decided to finally post the photos of a visit there at the end of February. The weather sucked, but I will have the opportunity to take photos whenever I want of this city in the future…so expect photos of Amsterdam with better weather soon

too good! Bad weather doesn't mean anything.

One night when I was there, I was going to throw up, but then I saw that "Do Not Puke Here" sign, so I had to hold it and puke down the street

I love:

that I amsterdamn structure
the way the buildings are so close to the water
how each building is continuous but different (euro-style?)

...and I wish americans rode bikes as much as amsterdam-ians

I love the housing stock in Amsterdam, some of the most beautiful I've seen in the cities I've been to in Europe.

BTW what do you mean when the weather gets better? I recall the weather sucks pretty much most of the time. Of the three weeks I spent there, I can only think of one when it didn't rain. For sure it rain at least minimum two hours every day during the month of June when I was there. Sure the sun came out, but then a few hours later it rain again.

To my surprise London actually had better weather, at least when I was there.

I think anyone from Southern California would find the weather in most north Eurpean cities bad. It rained almost all day today in London...

Well I hope there is a window of dry weather when I visit at the end of September. The weather was great the last time I was in London. In fact it was more like what I'm used to here in LA. But it was also in the middle of May, so I'm sure thats the reason it was so nice.

Wow! Absolutely great great pics! Some unusual stuff in there as well!

How did I forget to comment on this thread and how did it sink so fast to the second page?

Hope you enjoy living in Amsterdam Jochen. We should meet up for a beer one time!

Great pics of my city of birth.

Where do you live now? Is it close to or in the center or is it in the outskirts?

You had bad luck. Summer in Amsterdam can be quite good. This year unfortunately was another one like you described above. We had our "summer" in March/April...
