Welcome to Ki modern Japanese + bar

It is with deep regret Ki Vancouver has closed its doors as of December 23rd.

A big thank you to the management and staff for their dedication and commitment to ki. We'd also like to thank all of our guests for their patronage.

This does not effect our other locations, the next time you are in Toronto or Calgary please visit us at those locations.

Wow, that's a surprise. I visited Ki twice and both time I just loved the exclusive atmosphere and food in there. It was never busy, so I guess people had troubles finding it. After all, it was a bit hidden up there.

What a shame.

Catcus Club at Jack Poole Plaza is finally getting close to opening, there is a job fair there at the end of the month. I'm going to guess a late March open.

I'm surprised about Hell's Kitchen, it always seemed pretty busy and they had great pizza. But they were running groupons and often that seems like a deathrattle.

I'm a little surprised, but about 3 years ago they stopped doing half-price pizza on Mondays(?) and removed the pizza take-out area from the front and reno'd a bit. After that, yes, lots of groupons but also not a lot of customers. My wife was a fan so we bought and used almost every groupon they put out.

What exactly does that mean? Are they adding a second cash register area, just for coffee and other speciality drinks, like they do in Europe?

Scaffolding and plastic wrap coming down today at the Jack Poole Cactus Club, original opening was set for the Olympics. Then the fall of 2010, then spring of 2011, then who can remember them all. Looks like Spring 2013 it is.
