Duke Tower is 33 floors, and on higher ground than Charlie W as well...

That's what I thought, but WRC is saying that this is now 39 storeys (hence my question mark - I don't know whether this is confirmed). If it were to be 39 storeys and given the difference in elevation, it would look at least ten or twelve storeys taller than Charlie West.

I think that there are seven or eight construction/renovation projects undeway in DTK at the moment, with about the same number of projects proposed/approved.

Wow, 39 floors would really stick out, and be visible from all over town...

That's a nice looking tower in the KayDub...and within spitting distance of the 'Tits'. Win-win.

Claridge Icon, the new (or soon to be new) tallest in metro-Ottawa and Nuovo, a new rental tower a few blocks away. The Dow's Lake area has seen quite a boom over the last few years. It's served by Trillium Line's Carling Station, between Bayview, the transfer to the Confedertion Line and Carleton University. Yellow towers that can be seen in some pictures are recent student residences (sold as condos for investors).

Several new towers ranging from around 35 floors up to 50+ are also proposed. The area will also be home to the new Ottawa Civic Hospital, replacing the nearly 100 year old facility a few blocks west.

Here's another under construction in Ottawa. The Re Residences. Though a much smaller scale than Dow's Lake projects, this one will bring around 200 (very expensive) new condo units to Downtown Ottawa between Queen and Sparks streets. Queen has recently been revitalized by the City in anticipation for the opening of the Confederation Line (15 meters below Queen) and Sparks has long needed more residential in order to liven it outside business hours.

I call it Wellesley as a joke because of the absurd name they're using for the project, and mostly because I keep forgetting the name of the projects haha. Either way, it'll just be referred to by an address in a few years.

Is phase 2 of TNS going to be equally as cool?

Not as cool no, but a welcomed new development that will really change this area.

Phase 2
Sutton Place Hotel & Residences at True North Square
18-storey hotel tower
13-storey La Grande Residences

Quote:
The Sutton Place Hotel will bring its tradition of luxury to Winnipeg’s Sports, Hospitality, and Entertainment District (SHED) with more than 430,000 square-feet of five-star space in two towers that form part of the True North Square development. The 4-storey podium, a 288-room, 18-storey hotel tower, and a 130-suite, 13-storey residential tower will bring stately, refined, old world classic yet modern character that will define the streets’ corner profile and complement the design features of True North Square’s office and residential towers. The more than 8,000 square-feet of ground floor retail space will be anchored by the feature restaurant, Chop Steakhouse & Bar.
