I agree, but with the exception of a place like Los Angeles where you wouldn't need any new buildings really. The biggest flaw in the Olympics (besides the massive corruption and kickback schemes) is that they insist on having new places built, even if existing venues are satisfactory.

Really they should have like 2 or 3 cities that just rotate it.

I am still sore about Hamilton getting huge Federal money for Tim Horton's because it hosted part of a 2 week soccer tournament for the Pan Am games. Many of the soccer games were not even played there and many that were had less than 5000 fans. What a scam on the taxpayer that is. At least it is for the CFL.

Perhaps we can get the feds to kick in the money to turn it into a complete Infinity Bowl and add a retractable roof

Atlanta turned their 85,000 seat Olympic Stadium into the Braves baseball stadium. The ends of 400m track are way out from an American Football endzone but I am sure the smart architects could figure it out.

I think they just changed that policy:

The IOC to actively promote the maximum use of existing facilities and the use of temporary and demountable venues.

Yea that "building new stadiums" doesn't seem dodgy at all. If they are hooked up with the bidding contractors (or if it is a private tender process) than good chance there were kick-backs. FIFA sure seems to have its fair share of allegations against them when it comes to that area.

This can't be true because Putin today said that Seth Blatter deserves a Nobel Prize. If Putin backs you, you must be clean as a whistle.
