at that height, another 70 feet is still 70 feet.

And I really don't know what to think about the BD...nice height, but I really don't like how the building looks. Some of the earlier renderings, although a little bit shorter, looked better, IMO.

I never liked it from the start though.

Congrats nonetheless - tallest building in the world!

^That image was stretched. The original unaltered version looks better.

160 (unofficial, of course) but it looks like they'll skip numbers like Trump World Tower and Cheung Kong so the the elevators will have 190 on them. You can find sources throughout the thread below.

He means that, like buildings in the US that skip a 13th floor or those in China that skip 4 (i.e. 4, 34, 47, 104 etc), BD may skip unlucky/unwanted floor numbers in an effort to make the building seem taller. For instance, they may just leave out floor numbers 10-39 to make a 160-story building "190 stories" (extreme example)

^and it wont happen here... even if you remove 13 113 130 131 132 133 134 135 136 137 138 139, and maybe floor 101, youve still only removed 13 floors, (cant be a lucky way to do things anyway) personally i believe this tower will have 189 real floors, maybe with a few mechanical ones on top.

^and slipping all the 4's would remove

4, 14.. 184 19 floors
40.. 49 9 floors (excluding 44)
140-149 9 floors (excluding 144)

so thats another 37 floors on top of the 13 removed from the number 13, i dont think they would neglect to number 50 of their floors, it removes any grip on logic

It doesn't defy logic, they want their building to seem even taller than it is. And they're doing that by skipping a huge chuck of floors, apparently floors 150-180. I say apparently bcause this is based on eye-witness reports of the elevator mock-up that caused all this 190 floor crap in the first place.

Well they neglected to number 30 floors in TWC in NY and it didn't bother them.

I was screwing around with GIMP this morning and I came up with this. The tower is shown at 728m tall.
