Great eye as usual Grid. There are a couple hundred public fountains and even more private fountains. It's pretty much a standard now that most any public/private project includes a fountain.

KC has had a hokey claim that it has the second most number of fountains in world, next to Rome - as if all were counted. It's been said unchallenged since at least the 1940s and the unverified claim probably promoted a post-reality as KC is likely now first (in
working fountains) now that adding a fountain is a presumed defacto standard of most projects.
BTW, you missed one of my favorites. "The boy and frog" fountain.
