BYU, a quality opponent? NAU could probably kick their @ss.

Go ahead and root for the Mildcats. But I think they got the dumber of the two brothers. Offense is a 4-letter word to him.

Wow, just wow. You honestly think UofA is better in football than ASU this year? Yah UA slipped by BYU, but they arent quality, BYU wont go bowling this year. ASU came out and played to NAUs level, but we'll see how good ASU really is this weekend against Nevada.

You have to put ASU as the #1 team in the Mountain West based on talent level alone, its not even close.

There's just no defending what CU did against Montana State last weekend. I am far, far from convinced CSU is one iota better, but until CU gets a win we don't deserve squat.

But how about this, if you want optimism: The last time CU lost the first game of the year against a lesser conference opponent not in the rival game vs CSU (Fresno State in 2001), we went on to the BCS.

hehheh... mildcats.

Yeah, UofA will be better this year, but they are still horrible, and the barely eeked out a victory over a terrible team.

ASU dominated NAU, sans making stupid first game mistakes and giving up 2 big plays.

ASU is #1 in the MW because they're that good, and because they're the only ranked team.

ASU vs Nevada this weekend, does that count as an intraSSPsubforum rivalry game?

Well as you probably would have guessed, I am a BSU Bronco fan. So far so good with us, even if it was Sac State. Tomorrow should be a great game against Oregon! I think BSU is favored by 8, which doesn't always mean anything.

I think we take it though 30-21

BYU won't go bowling? you wanna bet on that? they won't be world beaters, but they will go bowling.. it really doesn't take much to go to a bowl in the MWC.. they just need 6 wins, and the MWC SUCKS!

It'll be interesting to see how Utah does against that same NAU this Saturday.

but when that happened...didn't you guys at least come off the past season with a win in the previous 5 games, let alone 3 losses of which were absolutely humiliating? (i don't need to point them out for you, you know which ones). i think you also weren't in a coaching transistion too...

but you're right that's about all that makes these two seasons different...since god knows scandals are a reoccuring theme at CU

There's still no way for cable users in Las Vegas and San Diego to actually watch most MWC games. Great job on the television contract. Maybe next time you'd check and make sure that the network you make the deal with is actually carried in all your member cities.

That is a very thought provoking argument, just slightly better than.

So a BYU team that hung with Cal in the Las Vegas Bowl last year down to the final two minutes would get it handed to them by a NAU team that was 4-7 last year playing in the Big Sky. I need some of what your smokin'. Did NAU have a top ten recruiting class this year that I never heard of?

When a NAU receiver hangs 206 receiving yards on 11 catches, you better figure things out quick or the PAC-10 is going to slap you guys further into your delusional state.

Also, I don't know why I am defending Arizona when Boise State will be what everyone is talking about in December.

HMMMMM, interesting way to try to prove a point, by using the past. However, if you would like to talk about the recent past, look no further than UofA's... can you say bottom 10?

One play (80+ yards) was a fluke, the other (65+ yards) was a good catch and run. Other than that he didn't do anything.

Besides, first games are really like a preseason game. The season starts this week.
