Awesome - thanks - nice looking building. Sure beats the old Farmington Hills office park... which was quite bland. And I like the lighting on it.

Are there still a fair number of abandoned buildings in the downtown core, or is that area filling in? I recall the street where the CPWR hq was to be built had quite a few empty storefronts and wig shops at the time...

Most all the storefront facades have been renovated along that, and quite a few filled, but there are still quite a few vacant. Were the Merchants Row and Woodward Center condominiums under renovation when you were there because they've filled in most of the area. Even still, the area looks a MILLION times better than it did just a few years ago, and here are some examples...

There's a new, trendy clothing store at Merchants Row called Studio Couture Detroit. It has a nice, transparent facade. Something that pretty much every street downtown lacks. That's obviously changing rapidly.

Thanks LMich & Michi - nice to see that area improving. And glad to see Compuware hopefully helped. I don't think anything was under renovation when I moved to CA (in 2000), so this is all good to see.

LMich - There is a parking structure at State Fair (E) and Gratiot for the former Saratoga Hospital (now a St. John's outpatient clinic I do believe)

While the last few day's weather has not been pretty looking, I think the city itself is really looking good - lights on at the Book Cadillac, the tigers decorations downtown, etc.
