Thumbs up Post some pictures of your city!

I think we need a picture thread in the Canada section, where we can post **NEW**pictures that we take of our cities, or other Canadian cities if we go on vacation. I thought I would start it off with some nature pictures I took yesterday. Here are some pix from a phototour I did of the salmon running up the Humber River. It is fascinating to watch them try and scale a rather high looking ladder. The Cohoe salmon are part of a programme to restock our Lake, and have grown to a huge size (they look about 2.5- 3 feet long. For anyone interested, it should still be happening for only a few short days. Get off at the Old Mill subway station, and walk down into Etienne Brulee park. I took about 100 pix just to get a few that actually captured the beauties leaping in the air! I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them!
There is not a lot left of the Old Mill from the 1840's, and what is left was at sometime Mock-Tudorized. But if you tell yourself that if it had not undergone a faux period change, it probably would have been ripped down, then the result is handsome enough:

All sorts of 2 legged creatures sit about like vultures:

in the distance you can see the "ladder"

one swimming in the shallows:

the ladder (you can see a salmon under the water about half way up:

and a truly beautiful shot:

Wow, that's incredible. Amazing shots, I can only imagine how many you had to take in order to capture those few.

Literally I had to take about a hundred to get a few good ones. One trouble with most digital cameras is there is a small delay between depressing the button and the actual snapshot, so by the time you see the salmon leaping, it
is too late! But was great fun, anyhow!

Here are some pictures I took on the weekend at Niagara-on-the-Lake:

Taller Better: Great pictures! That town looks really nice, I can't tell the old from the new (a good thing in this case).
