Palm Dunes, CA

So, I guess I'm following the fad of photo-real cities. I've started work on Palm Dunes, another city to be in California. Here's a sneak peek:

(Thanks to STR's advice, I saved the image very large, to capture the quality, and then compressed it on Imageshack. I think I like it! )

Palm Dunes! so are we going to go for a Las Vegas/Lost Angeles kind of thing...?

Glad to know that you are producing something new. I'm going to get into the whole photo-realism thing at some point myself...

Just a short drive from Sun City. Palm Dunes is not an uber-megalopolis like Sun City, it is smaller, with more 400'-500' towers. (Similar to Sacramento.) The current tallest, the one in that picture, is only 335'.

Wow. This is looking absolutely fantastic. Take your time on the details and smaller buildings, I found that when I rushed to do my downtown it ended up being a little awkward in juxtaposition with the rest of the city. But seriously, this is exponentially better than Sun City.

Looking real good, and I like how you have some storefronts up on the base of that building in the backround. Keep up the good work, if this city gets large enough it'll be better than Sun City!

Thank guys! That's what I was aiming for, Sun city is "quantity," while this city will be "quality."

Wow one of the most realistic cities, in Google skechUP ever! I you can keep the good quality and make a big city like Sun City, it would be great!

Google! I just search: "building textures" and there are a few good ones on there. I wish they had more though...
