The external design is inspired by the city itself.
The building, seen from above, evokes the districts of Valencia with the Turia river crossing it.

An original design for a stadium? Wow. Spain's tradition of great and unique architecture continues. This is beautiful. I have some family in Barcelona (another great city for architecture) but this thing is a work of art. Hopefully the titanium exterior comes off nicely.

Congrats Valencia.
I will sure miss the good old Mestalla with it's ridiculously steep tribunes.

Totally FANTASTIC!!!! I am so envious, if Chicago had that stadium we would get the 2016 Olympics for sure.

I think it's ugly. It will look dated very quickly. Some parts of it is nice, but way too much of it is not.

I like it , a very innovative design but it is going to be built into an already built up area...why ?

Exactly how will it look dated? I think it's fantastic, and will certainly stand the test of time. Another iconic building for Valencia!
