Simply awesome D. Everything almost looks too perfect. Its almost trippy. Some people say Chicago is clean but it looks like you could eat off the side walk in most of Copenhagen.

I am surprised!
I never tought seeing so many new buildings -not tall but well designed- , a lovely waterfront and those tiny canals...

It has an Amsterdam touch but it is much cleaner , CPH is much more than the flocked Nyhavn area.

A big thanks for sharing these pictures

Man, what a city! That second pic is great (all are wonderful!). What is that building, and what type of trees are those? They are so cool. Good tour!

The building is Frederiksberg Palace... now used by the Army as part of the Officer Academy...

The trees I believe is called "Lime trees" in English "Lindetræ" in Danish..

The park they are in used to be a private royal hunting park - so they are a bit modified..

Yes, if you let your grandmother drive...

By Car:

Copenhagen - Esbjerg ( 270km ) can be done borderline legally in about 2h

Copenhagen - Århus ( 290km ) can be done in 2h 30m

Add 30min and you have the train time...

Freeway speed here is 130hm/h btw

From the northern most point ( Skagen ) to the most southern ( Gedser ) - Greenland and other islands excluded - there's around 530km by car, so that will take you around 5 hours with a few bathroom breaks.. but that trip also covers all the major islands..

Thanks again people!

@ Capt AWACS - cool I hop you have a great trip here - as you know January isn't the most charming month a year in this part of the world, but you should still be able to have a great time...

Feel free to ask if you have any questions

Beautiful city Mr D. As someone said earlier the place is super clean and looks like a pleasure to bike and walk, or take the train. Personally I love the mid-rise approach to develoment. There is something to be said for lots and lots of sun and light hitting the streets. Great tour.

These two are from the station where the Metro meets the S-tog (one raidal line and the orbital line), right? Did it get as busy as they thought it would?

^Yes, it's Flintholm Station where 2 S-Train lines and 1 Metro line meets... ( 2 elevated and one at ground level )... it's already pretty busy and here from Jan. 6 the full F-line will be completed ( has been extended from Frederiksberg all the way out to Ellebjerg the last few years )... this will make it a "ring line" with 5 minute S-train operation and will cut A LOT of time off for people living in the outer parts of the CPH municipal..

Here's the full S-Train and Metro map for Jan-6-07: http://wikitravel.org/en/Image:Map_trains_cph.png

It's also a BUS hub btw
