When it gets that chilly in AB, you can expect the Wet Coast to dip below 0 Celsius, which it might by the weekend.

No doubt. I think Calgary actually has a worse forecast. At least be glad that EC rarely gets the forecast accuate more then 24 hours in advance.

Personally the cold doesn't bother me, the snow does. Especially when it causes traffic to slow to a crawl, making my normal 30 minute drive to work into 1.5 hours as it did this morning

Normals:Max Temp. 1°C
Min Temp. -11°C

Check out all the highway cameras across central and northern Alberta. Some show near prairie blizzard conditions

I think we've been relatively lucky here in Calgary, the last week was some very pleasant and sunny weather.

Thanks for the link to those AMA cameras Feepa! I didn't even know they existed, a great resource for sure!

This is why I am kind of skeptical when people go on about how nice the climate is in Alberta.

I was complaining about how cold it was yesterday and it was 4 degrees out.

This will be coldest and snowiest November I remember since the 90s.

Last Winter, was extra great. Christmas with shorts on at over 15+, stayed mainly above freezing till mid february, had a slight dip, but still no snow. March brought alot of snow (typical in Alberta)

We certainly, on average do not get the snow dumps like Altantic Canada does.
Sure, we get some really cold days, I wont deny this, but at least its sunny.
The summer here is great. Its never too hot, and rarely gets cold, and you can have weeks of nearly full sun.
Do not knock it till you try it.

There's a pretty distinct chinook arch over Calgary right now, but it seems to be missing us to the south. Or something. I'm not entirely sure how that works.

Lethbridge is supposed to get up to +5 today, but I don't put much stock in weather forecasts in this region.

It's a comfortable 8 degrees and sunny today here in Ottawa. A welcome change considering we have been under cloud cover (and frequent rain) for the last month! I don't think that there is any denying that global warming has made things a little more mild here over the last 20 years. Good luck over there in Alberta; let's hope we stay South of the jetstream and all that snowy cold crap misses Ottawa to the North.

Its a freezing 8c here in Vancouver, cloudy and rainy today and every other day before today for atleast the last month. Over the next couple days though the temperature is suposed to dip all the way to -4 on monday which realy realy sucks and the sun is suposed to come out which I havent seen in a month or so for no more than a couple minuits...im probably going to take that day of because thats just to cold to step outside, might get frost bite. But i am still confident that the prediction is wrong.

I would laugh at Edmonton, but normally you knock off 3 to 5 degrees, wait 24hours then you've got Saskatoon's Wx.
