Mayor Maxine Wilson
Maxine is a partner with husband, Gordon, in a family business which has been in operation for the last 29 years
She is mother to two children, James aged 29 and Heidi aged 27.
Maxine has a professional background in education as a grade one teacher in Surrey for 5 years
She has a Bachelor of Arts and teaching certificate from the University of British Columbia
Maxine is the founding president of the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils
She was a School Trustee in Coquitlam for 10 years including 4 years as Chair of the School Board
Maxine was first elected to Council in 1998.
Formerly, Maxine has served on numerous City Committees including in recent years: the Leisure, Parks and Cultural Services Committee; City/School Board Liaison Committee; Community Liaison Committee; Gender Equity Committee and has served on the Place Maillardville Board, Fraser North Council for Children and Youth and the GVRD Labour relations Board
Currently, Maxine is a Director on the Greater Vancouver Regional District Board of Directors and the TransLink Board representative for the Northeast Sector Sub-region.
