Need HDR for this one

1219 x 493 Downtown from the West

NOTE:
1. I took this photo on Fri 29Feb08.
2. I couldn't figure out AEB in Av mode on this different camera. Precarious location for nice lens. So I didn't get an HDR that you need for this to show what you can see with your eyes.
3. 1/200 sec, f/7.1, ISO 800, 29.0mm x 1.6
4. cropped, curves, unsharpen mask (110, 0.7, 10)

^^^Yeah, the benson is a bit of a disappointment. Up close it looks like one of those plastic model cars you snap and glue together. I think what's happening is that computer renderings are getting too good, and now buildings aren't living up to the renderings.

Some photos I took in the Sunnyside neighborhood (Belmont and a couple blocks south) back in the fall. These were taken that weekend when there was a ton of rain, flooding all throughout the Northwest, I-5 closed in Chehalis, WA, etc. I was thinking I’d get back to that hood and finish off a full “neighborhood tour,” but never did. I’ll get there again eventually, but for now, here you go.

I haven't seen the Benson up close since last May, but I completely disagree with your opinion. I like the almost nautical architecture, the colors, and the variance in materials and shape. Perhaps most of all I like that it is not a variation of theme, as are most of the buildings of the Pearl and South Waterfront. Could the Benson have been better? Of course, and that is true of every building.

I don't get what others see wrong with the Wyatt. Then again, I have no appreciation (understanding) for architecture. Coming from Oklahoma, your standards are slightly lowered.

I agree with you Okstate.... I agree with your viewpoint regarding the Wyatt-not that you have lower standards because you are from Oklahoma.
