I hope this one doesn't change. It reminds of the best pre-war skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan.

earlier in this thread...

This building is a good replacement for the lost Singer Building. Especially since it's so close to the World Trade Center.

Why is this thread being bumped if it's on hold?

I really hope they don't use those precast panels on the facade. Some of the buildings that use them in Chicago look so horrendous and cheap they make you want to vomit. I know that's a render, but the smoothness of the base kinda scares me, especially since I've been looking forward to this building rising for some time now.

Pss, what's not precast nowadays? how do you think the glass all over the place is manufactured? And cheap...? Vomit, really? I don't know who cares about the price, but I wouldn't be astonished if someone told me it costs more than a glass curtain.
Anyways, it seems alright to me like Chicago's Ritz-Carlton. At least, it's got the balls to change from the ordinary all-glass.

15 Central Park West has precast panels, and is a pretty nice tower. Anyway, really can't wait for this one to rise... this empty foundation is pretty depressing.

15 CPS used, and this will use limestone panels, not precast.

So much anticipation for this building. It has the potential to be stunning. Just hope that with all the high-end residential bldgs. going up or proposed in NYC doesn't affect the financing of this bldg. I believe the location is its biggest selling point. Just hope the wait is not too much longer.

It's just another faceless postmodernist structure (yawn). Doesn't America have literally thousands of these types of buildings?
There are very few such buildings in the U.S. Robert AM Stern has done very few highrises, and even fewer buildings have facades of Indiana limestone.

Saying that something is "faceless" because it's postmodern is silly. One could say the same about anything modernist, or really any building style. Obviously the rough style has been done before; the difference is in the execution and details.

Bringing you the finest in skyscraper entertainment and living in New York. 30 Park will have the best of everything. Forget about those towers going up on 57th Street. Those towers won't have eye busting views of the World Trade Center! Speaking of which, if you've got any friends looking for office space, I've got about 400,000 square feet minimum, guaranteed to be the best in New York! Get in on it while it's hot! And don't forget 30 Park, the best living in New York!

[...] Other developers are content to wait even longer. Larry Silverstein, the developer of the World Trade Center complex, says he hopes construction can start next year on a Four Seasons Hotel project designed by Robert A. M. Stern at 99 Church Street. It will be topped by some 50 floors of condos (a private entrance for the condos is planned at 30 Park Place). His strategy is to start selling the 143 condos by the middle of 2015, when the World Trade Center will largely be completed.

^ Looking forward to it. The crown could use a little something extra, but I like the slenderness of this tower.
