Canadian License Plates

So what are your favourite Canadian license plates?

Yukon

British Columbia

Alberta

NWT

Saskatchewan

Nunavut

Manitoba

Ontario

Quebec

New Brunswick

Nova Scotia

PEI

Newfoundland and Labrador

Personally, I've always been partial to the NWT and Yukon license plates. I liked the old PEI one with Anne of Green Gables. That one was pretty neat as well.

I like it simple like Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland. Otherwise, it is so kitsch.

NWT/Nunavut just because it's not the standard rectangle, I love it.

I think Alberta needs to overhaul as well, but I would think most people would want something oil related. It would be cool if we could do something like I remember in Florida, how different parts had slightly different plates. The orange, space shuttle, and there were some others. Then you could specify what you wanted.

I like the BC and Ontario plates the best - nice and simple and elegant. The variant of the PEI one with the Confederation Bridge on it is neat too. I also like the Albertan government logo, and Newfoundland and Saskatchewan are okay too.

I recall some states giving the option of two or three colors and patterns based on what University team they cheered for.

I think it would be awesome to let Albertans have similar choices, but base them on Oiler, Eskimos, Flame and Stampeder colors and graphics.

I know Albertans don't have a long history like we have in East Canada (from Ontario to Newfoundland) but I am sure you can find something better than a Cowboy mega-meet link or a Sport team logo...

Nothing negative, just my point of view.

I like how Manitoba's demonstrates that it is truly the land of 100,000 lakes! I just wish that it could have been bilingual.

Maybe in the upper left corner, since Manitoba is well known as the Polar Bear capitol of the World

BC's is kinda dull - but they are simple

the personalized plates are not bad and than there are veterans plates

Oregon has a ton of different plates

I like BC's- as stated above, "simple and elegant". I like the way the plates are not overdone like Australia and some US plates.
And NWT and NU are always cool.

Manitoba should change their nick name back to " Over 100,000 Lakes"

i don't know if it's just me, but i've always been surprised by how much i notice the different licence plates when i'm in another province. it's one of those small, unimportant details that remind you that you're somewhere else.

I like these "prototype" plates more than our current one:

Absolutely great idea... Haven't we had the same plates here in Alberta since the early 80's, it's due time for a change!

As far as the current plates in Canada... I like Manitoba's and PEI's the best.
