It would be cool to see the photo you were able to get though.
Sorry I Was really tired last night but yea it's not like you can see every tiny detail of the buildings...I'll post the pic

cell phone outage

So, you think your cell phone is sketchy in some elevators......this building is going to place you in a metal box behind 1 meter of reinforced concrete, how much you want to bet that every phone call takes a hiatus for elevator travel in WTC1? lol, think they will install signal repeaters, or its just going to go with the territory of working in a terrorist target?

I'm assuming that the telecom ring is inclusive of what is described above as the antenna. I do so because that particular structural element isn't mentioned in the timeline.

^ Well the topping out point is the roof, and the telecom ring is above (situated) on the roof. The telecom ring needs to be built in order for the spire to rise. So yeah the telecom ring SHOULD be part of the spire phase.

Anyone know how long the communications ring alone should take? I mean it's only 33 feet high...not counting the complicated radio stuff just the structure itself

I would say about a month. Give or take it could be more or less, but around a month. The mast would take almost half a year.

It's above ground. It would get signal. The only place where you won't get any is in the subway tunnels.

That's not really a technical issue, but a policy decision. Despite what some idiot who doesn't know rf from a hole in the ground says, a cell signal isn't going to penatrate the core. But it's very low cost and simple to add pico, or femto repeaters for a few hundred bucks to cover spaces like elevator shafts if they want to.

Wow... that's bad.

The cranes were spotted lifting steel this morning (over on SC). Maybe we'll see something happen...

Is that new perimeter steel, or is that from the last jump?

Also holy ballsack someone needs to wash/repaint/whatever One Liberty Plaza. I'll freely admit that I love boxes, and that's just awful.
