It seems kind of ridiculous. Really, I can just imagine looking up to appreciate the towers... oh wait, the trees are blocking it.
I do realize that trees evoke a sense of remembrance in people, but isn't this taking it a little far? We have a mesuem, giant waterfalls, symbolic heights, symbolic building features... Can't we compromise once and make a plaza that everyone will enjoy?
Are further more, where will they put all of the great outdoor concerts that the Twins had at their base? I loved relaxing to some sweet music on a Saturday/ Sunday and being able to look up and be wowed by the music and the sheer height of the towers. To put it into perspective I was like 7 years old when I went to one of those concerts. That's how impacting that amazing view was.
But now it seems like the best parts about the old WTC for citizens. The plaza (even if it was windy), the outdoor concerts, the outdoor observation deck...
Any way, I got off topic:
Will there really be that many trees? I seems counterproductive to building some of the most beautiful towers in the world if you can't appreciate them from below.
