What U.S. Chain Restuarant Would You Like in Your City?

If you could have one chain come to Canada, what would it be and please don't say that your mommy's home cooking is better. My pick is for CrackerBarrel. Yummy!

I don't know.... maybe something with Southern cooking. Sort of like Popeyes, but we have that already. I can't think of any actual chain I would
particularily like. I don't know Taco Time well, but I remember it being vile, too.

Just recently(a few months ago) we had a Fat Burger open up here first in Canada I believe, a popular L.A based hamburger joint. The quality and freshness is great. For those who don't know it is in the Deerfoot Meadows power centre. As for a chain I would like to see I would have to say White Castle and no I am not stoned.

Bob Evans, no contest. They're only located in the US midwest and south so I'm sure they'd succeed in southwestern Ontario since we're also agricultural and countryish, everyone I know loves that restaurant. Cracker Barrel would be 2nd on the list.

Sonic, Jack in the Box or TGI Fridays... thank god Carls Jr. should be open up here by '07 end!

I thought Applebees and Red Lobster were everywhere up here? They're in Calgary.

In 2001 I think it was, the Pizza Hut on Red River Road (beside Red River Towers) closed down, was torn down, and replaced, by a taco bell.

The Taco Bell lasted 27 days.

It's now an Arby's.

Taco Time is way better, especially the chicken ranch raps. I don't know what they were like when you tried them TB, but they're easily the best fast food chain after Arby's now. They use real meat!!

Perkins is pretty good. It's mostly a breakfast place, and most of them have bakeries. We stopped at one in Duluth for breakfast once, it's like home cooking. I think they came to Canada before and didn't do well but it was good when I went there in the states.

I'd rather go to a real taco place... they do taste a lot better and don't take too much longer than fast food. As for Taco Time... I just have this vague memory of a taco place in the South food court of Eaton Centre and I thought it was Taco Time. I think I ate there once and it was nothing special, but it may be another franchise.
I finally ate soup from The Soup Nazi. You know, the guy that Seinfeld made famous, and then he opened up a chain all over the States. There is one in Eaton Centre. The soup is ludicrously expensive and i did not like my Cuban black bean one bit. Tasted like commercial bagged beef stock. Gross. I threw it away. Also, a "New Orleans Style" fast food place opened in the north food court of Eaton Centre... I was curious and tried it. It is all just like Chinese food. I was aghast. Nothing tasted like New Orleans food... it was all like Chinese fast food . And the sad thing was it replaced a fairly decent Jamaican fast food place with not bad food.

Chinese places are really hit or miss. We have about three dozen but only a half dozen are really notable. The rest are just average. None of them are really bad, but Golden Lantern has a bit of a reputation. :/

I've never tried Chipotle, but it sounds good.

Actually right now there is nothing in the USA that interests me for chain restaurants. I prefer one of a kind/unique places. I find most USA sit down chains have basically the same menu. So they are all pretty much the same.
