Correct, they couldn't be fully loaded with fuel, passengers and cargo. Jet fuel is actually a big part of an aircraft's overall payload, so the fact that a 747 needs to be lighter for takeoff from Lindbergh acts as a double range limiter.

Hawaiian Airlines does not have 777s in its fleet. As it stands, Hawaiian has 767-300s, 717s, and they have just started taking delivery of Airbus A330s which have not flown to San Diego. Hawaiian flies 767-300s between San Diego and the islands.

I stand corrected, I guess the one I was in was a refurbed/newer 767.

And like Trvlr said, 747s flew light through San Diego because they came from/went to Phoenix where they fully loaded and went on to London.

Good news, looks like the city isn't going to wait around for Pinnacle to develop the Rose Park on 13th Street between Island Ave and J Street. Bad news (in my opinion) they are proposing a fence to be built around the park (supposed to be temporary, but luckily paid for by the developer).

Here are the renderings of the fence. What are your thoughts on this? Yeah yeah yeah, who cares? It's just a fence. But it's a big deal and could effect the success of the park and how it is used. For obvious reasons they are building the fence to keep the homeless from sleeping in the park after hours, but how welcoming is a fence around a city park?

What are your thoughts on this?

More good news for the Charger Stadium.

The South Bay Power Plant has been OK'd for demolition.

I still think I'd rather see it in Chula Vista, simply because they'd have a little bit more to work with. But I don't really care at this point.

I don't see anything wrong with my previous comment or the fact that Jan Goldsmith is a Republican, not a "leftie" and was the one who made the interpretation to begin with. Hmmm.

I approve. The park requires a fence for now, at least until the area develops into a more residential-oriented center. I'd rather it not be destroyed by the homeless... (Horton Square...cough cough).

That's interesting. It looks like Hwy 252's proposed intersection with I-5 was where the 15 currently connects with the 5. So had Hwy 252 been built, it would either have been a massive, three-highway interchange or I-15 would have gone elsewhere.

Edit-> It looks like the "Exist Rte 103" is today's 15, so this would have had to be a big-arse three-highway interchange between the 15, 5, and 252!
