Sketches of 1920s and 30s Halifax

There are also some surprising sketches of various towns around the Maritimes.

British Merchants' Coffee House, Water Street

I think this is around Duke and Lower Water (1936)

George Street at Argyle, 1927

The funny thing is that a bunch of Saint John (and parts of Halifax) still looks like that. Unfortunately people seem to have taken up using these strange automobiles instead of horses and carts. Silly people, when will they learn...

Really cool find - thanks for posting. I wish we still had more of those dense buildings and cool arches along the waterfront. Makes it seem even more like an old port city.
