Spring photos of the University of Delaware

To celebrate the beginning of Spring, here are some of my pictures from last year on the campus of the University of Delaware.

To finish it off, here's a picture of Main Street in Newark.

It's sure a nice looking university. I have some family in Newark but they live out on the outskirts. Is the UD campus near downtown Newark, like within walking distance?

Downtown Newark is really just Main Street. It's not that big. The UD campus is right in the middle of Newark and pretty much dominates all of central newark, whether it be buildings for classrooms and offices, dorms, off-campus student housing, recreational facilities, etc. The central area of Newark is very walkable, and walking is the better way to go, especially during rush hour on Main Street in the afternoon or when going to the bars.

It's a damn shame what UD did to Sig Ep and Sig Nu. They were two great frat houses. Nice pictures, though. I wish I was still there some times.

It looks nice, and I could really care less about frats. Seeing those steroid-laced frat boys in their tight shirts looking at themselves in the mirror while doing bicep curls at the Little Bob made me laugh (and also vomit in my mouth a little). And our swim team parties were better than your average frat party.

Beautiful photos of a gorgeous place.

My first exposure to Delaware was in May (1963), and I was most impressed by the flowers as I drove down US 13. Maybe it's the combination of sandy soil, abundant moisture, and relatively mild, short winters that gets things off to such a good start.
