MuseumHouse, 206 Bloor W

I hadn't heard of this before. I guess it's going in between the Inter-Continental Hotel and the McDonald's. The old U of T student strip on Bloor is really disappearing fast. This could end up being quite an elegant neighbourhood, albeit with a rather awkward looking college football ground stuck in the middle.

The website isn't hugely helpful, but I guess it's not for the riff-raff to see.

206 Bloor West. It is directly across from the ROM. Amazing looking building and it should be a very sleek and sophisticated addition to the nabe. I hate the standard type of flash condo website that tells you dick, even after you sign up. All they want is your name so they can pester you to buy.

How rich do you need to be to live here? 93 cent maintenance fees a sq ft! So even the smallest unit is looking at almost 2 thousand a month in fees, FRAK! The price some will pay to overlook the Crystal.

I'm not sure how they're getting that to be a corner lot, as suggested in the model -- it's the middle of a block. There's a little passageway there to the parking lot in behind the block, so I guess this new building is going to have a wider and more tree-lined one. I'm going to go out and take a look now that it's brightened up a bit.

I'm having a hard time figuring out the location. What's currently on the site now... the McDonald's? What building is that adjacent to the Museumhouse rendering? Is that laneway currently that wide? In the render it looks wide enough for 2 cars...

like the tower but the location is going to make it a bit of an oddity. - ice

i.e. flat building to the east and when that gets developed residents can look at one another over the 15 foot gap!

^ I think the building is a little bland. I wish something more eye-catching was proposed

That is a surprisingly poor rendering. There is a much better one out there, but nobody seems to have a copy of it. I think it is a highly sophisticated looking building and in a most desirable neighbourhood.

I think its a great neighbourhood. My only concern is when they develop the lot east and the building faces into the alley... a bit awarkward. I - ice
