You know, the imperfectons of the glass bothered me so much less today. When the glass was first going up and there was nothing else to look at, it had a large impact. But as the tower grows and you're staring up at the size of it, it's not as big a deal anymore.

Umm..... the Peri website calles this the 'Trump International Hotel and CASINO'!!! I have been not aware of CASINO, I do remember 'Trump International Hotel and Tower', but 'Trump Tower Chicago' sounds much better, the 'fun house glass' that was a weird ridicule earlier in this thread (i think) looks just fine. Perhaps it is intentional I think it looks sorta cool.

The aesthetics of the glass are dependant upon the viewing angle and the direction of the sun relative to that viewing angle...

I don't think so, I think it looks cool with that black stone (Black Granite?) they used as pavers. Then again I grew up in a town that was built using what is probably some of the best limestone quarries in the Midwest in the 1800's... So I guess I have a thing for limestone...

How come some of the panes of glass are a dark purple? Will they change those?

They are not changing any panes of glass. Unless they are broken they stay as is. The face stone is from Jeruslam. Everyone I have spoken with says that it does not go with the look of the tower.

Clearly taking shape by now. The glass follows the concrete closer than in usual skyscraper projects. Any reason for that?

Would I be correct in assuming that the darker spots are opened windows on floors that have crews working on the interior of the building? I have to say I dig the look. Having random open windows helps hide the waviness and gives it an interesting look. I think it makes it seem more livable and less like some giant monolith.

I notice you always hate on this building. Is it because of your hate for the man, or really hate the design?

Don't hate the building, but I definately don't like it either. I haven't really figred out WHAT to think of it yet, but then again, its still going up.

Trumps behavior otherwise makes me bash it a bit more than I should. Mostly his can-do/no-can-do/a-spire-will-make-it-better/i-could-have-done/your-building-sucks attitude that pisses me off to this point.

But, the building CLEARLY has issues, so I feel I'm justified. Meh...can't like em all.

I think it's a very good skyscraper. Of course, I don't think there's any sane person would admit "Liking trump the man" (I sure as hell don't), But this skyscraper is so sleek, so clean.

Yea, as I've said before, its not the most ground-breaking design but I think it does an exceptional job because of it's location, Baker kind of touched on this in the video that was posted in one of these threads...

How come the windows are exactly the same as those on Burj Dubai
It even has the same 'off' coloured rows as BD ?

He despises the glass, which is obviously a pretty big thing to dislike. But, he truly doesn't really mind anything else. Its just his hatred for trump thats hijacking his brain. Right, Alliance? of course I'm right

you know, it probably has something to do with both buildings being designed by the same architect... I've heard of trump being called mini-BD before, which I guess I'll accept
