A Winter in Ireland

These Pictures are from a trip I took in Ireland in February of 2006 and never posted. This was the first camera I've ever owned so a lot of my night and evening shots cam out blurry. I'll probably skip most of those, anyways here it is:

1. Dublin street scene:

2. St. Stephan's Green, Dublin:

3. Charming Street in Dublin:

4. Alley full of Kegs. I love Ireland!

5. Large Church in Dublin:

6. Tiny Medieval Doors on the Church:

7. Rock of Cashel:

8. Inside the Church on Cashel:

9. Old abbey in the countryside:

10. Cahel Castle(closed for winter):

11. Cork:

12. Blarney Castle, A must see just for the gardens:

13. More of Blarney:

14. More of Blarney:

15. The witches kitchen at Blarney:

16. Blarney Gardens:

17. Drombeg Stone Circle (In the middle of nowhere, one lane dirt road):

18. The Bantry House (also closed, I dont even know if we were supposed to be on the grounds):

19. More Bantry:

20. Cool staircase(wanted to go to the top but didn't want to get spotted by the grounds people):

21. More Bantry:

22. My little rental on a mountain "Highway":

23. Killarney National Park (This whole area and the town are wonderful):

24. Ross Castle in Killarney (under renovation):

25. Muckross Abbey Graveyard:

26. Muckross House (The grounds were my favorite part of the trip):

27. More Mukross:

28. Georgeous Gardens:

29. Remember, this is in February:

30. More:

31. A moss covered tree in the arboretum:

32. Near the old boat house:

33. A lookout over the Killarney:

34. King John's Castle in Limmerick (way to commercialized, wouldn't recommend):

35. Knappogue Castle (in the middle of nowhere and closed but one of the neighboors was kind enough to let us climb over the gate):

36. Cliffs of Moher (so windy I could hardly hold the camera still):

37. Those little white things are seagulls to give you an impression of size:

38. If you look closely it's a very curvy road on the way to Galway:

39. Dunguaire Castle (didn't even know it was there, we just got lucky and drove past it):

40. A small town across the lake from the castle (I couldn't capture it well because I don't know how to use a camera, but it made me want to move there badly):

41. I think this was the original city gate near trim castle:

42. Malahide castle near Dublin (closed of course):

43. Back to America aboard Aer Lingus:

Overall a very fun trip. The driving was exciting on those tiny roads and I was getting a little cocky towards the end. For castle lovers, not the best time to go because many were closed and others were under scaffolding. I still wish I had more than a week there so I could have visited the northern half of the island and a lot more in between. Thanks for looking!

I was in Dublin for a day trip in December and it was awful. Cold driving rain most of the day. I wish they had a better connection to the airport, but Dublin was a weird, fascinating place. Definitely would like to go back.

How many days did you stay?

Thanks guys. I was in Ireland for a little over a week and in Dublin for three days. Two on arriving and the night before leaving. The trip to the airport does suck but I'm in love with Dublin. There is a bar every third storefront it seems.
