I was there a few weeks back visiting some family there.... my hotel was on Groenburgwal Canal on the right (just hidden in the photo).
Simply a magnificent city.....magnificent free thinking liberal inteligencia capital of our planet. It may not have the super-power might of a great capital like London, Paris, Tokyo, Moscow, or DC.... but it has an intellectual significance unto its own.
Also loved your Olympic torch photo.... very personal spot for me because my family lives so close to the Olympic stadium and take the kids to play there.
