One crane alone can't erect a tower. Since the crane accident a few weeks ago the tower's top-out date has fallen behind schedule. Its also a lot simpler to disassemble the jumping crane in the core, and other concrete work.

As long as the swing radius is within bounds, one crane can erect a tower. I have seen this on many occassions.

Damn man, that really captures the sheer scale of this building. It often gets overlooked because of its larger siblings, but if you put 4WTC here in Tampa, it would be nearly twice as tall as our tallest building.

EDIT: Also, is that the beginnings of the vehicle security center or Five World Trade Center?

Yes, the VSC is well underway. 5WTC, if it is built, I believe would be in the area that the temporary entrance platform to the Memorial currently is.

Nope. Five WTC is going up where the Deutsche Bank Building used to be.

5WTC will in fact be where the temporary entrance to the memorial is. It will be the same shape as 7WTC if you look at a closeup of the VSC area you can clearly see where it will be behind the wall they are building.

The Comcast tower is very impressive, but 4WTC is like its dad.

Deuche Bank building WAS where they are building VSC Phase II.

The entire site where they are building the VSC Phase 2 was the footprint of the Deutsche Bank Building, and the surrounding plaza. The retaining wall is for the Vehicle Security Center, while the remainder beyond that remains to be a pit and the entrance to the memorial.

I sometimes forget how big tower 4 is. Almost 1000 feet when topped off, nothing to sneeze at..

We'd have a completely different notion of this site if Tower Four were the only one rising.
